When we purchased our lot in Chapel Ridge, we were given a list of recommended builders. We met with all of them, plus a couple of others, before deciding that Jim Prewitt was the right choice for us. From the start, he took the time to listen carefully to what we wanted, visited our lot, and offered thoughtful suggestions. The final plan incorporated all of the unique features that mattered most to us.
Throughout the construction process, communication was excellent. Jim was accessible, quick to respond, and steady in his approach. Jim built a home for our former neighbors and he came with a high recommendation. When we first met with him, we appreciated his honesty in discussing options and costs. One of the things that really stood out was that he offered us house designs that we could alter, rather than having to start completely from scratch. With the exception of lot selection, we went through all phases of the home-building process with Prewitt-Douglas. Their team was responsive to our concerns, addressing and correcting issues that came up during and after construction. Interior design support from Carrie was excellent; she provided valuable guidance every step of the way. Jim’s involvement throughout the process and his willingness to take responsibility for addressing any issues was also a big plus. I met Jim Prewitt while representing buyers for a custom home he built in Pittsboro’s Mann’s Crossing. Our Realtor introduced us to Jim Prewitt. We looked at some of his finished work and liked what we saw, especially noticing the high quality of construction as well as his superior finishes. The home we selected was in Wake Forest’s Charleston Traditions at Bowling Green, where we loved the size of the homes and lots. We were trying to go smaller, but didn’t want to sacrifice quality features. The house was already framed, and we were able to make decisions on finishes. Our time table was an important condition, and Jim was able to complete our home in the time frame we required. Jim was very responsive, always answered questions, and went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly. We were very happy with the process and overall final product. Charleston Traditions is a neighborhood where you can actually have coffee on your porch and neighbors stop to chat. You also have the privacy of your own separate home spaces. We would recommend Prewitt Custom Homes, as well as the community!
